Dambu: A Village of Strength and Hope

Dambu, founded in the 1970s as a resting place for warriors, was once a bustling agricultural market centre. However, the Sierra Leone Civil War left the village in ruins, and the Ebola virus wiped out much of the workforce, leaving the community mainly made up of women and orphaned children. Many of the men were lost, leaving the women to rebuild, with agriculture at the heart of the village's recovery.

Despite limited infrastructure, poor sanitation, and a lack of healthcare, the women of Dambu remain determined to restore their community which now sits at 200 villagers. Catch the Dream is committed to empowering these women, equipping them with the tools and resources to revitalise agriculture and improve living conditions. Through this support, we aim to help Dambu flourish and secure a brighter future for its people.
